Alexandra Burke left thousands of fans disappointed this weekend when she pulled out of her scheduled performance at Brighton Pride at the last minute.

The X Factor winner, who this year released second album 'Heartbreak On Hold', apparently cancelled the show after her team decided the audience number was not big enough for the artist. Her last single 'Let It Go' struggled in the charts, reaching only No.33. It was estimated that thousands had packed into the Girls On Top tent at the South coast event to see the star perform.

A source for the event told Pinknews.co.uk that her staff 'did not like the look of the place.'

Organisers for the event issued an official apology, thanking the artists who did perform, including Fatboy Slim and the Freemasons. "The team at Pride Brighton & Hove are sad to announce that despite agreeing the full details of her performance in advance, Alexandra Burke and her management decided to remove her from the line-up at the last minute, disappointing thousands of her fans.

"Pride Brighton & Hove would like to thank Fatboy Slim, the Freemasons and all of the performers who waived their fees to perform at Preston Park for their support of Pride Brighton & Hove 2012 and the LGBT community at large."

Alexandra posted an apology on Twitter, telling fans: "Brighton Pride, I am so sorry to disappoint. I'm really disappointed too. I wasn't taking a fee for the gig and I really wanted to perform for you all... However the promoter did not meet the production or technical requirements needed to make the show work. It was sadly out of my hands."
