Robbie Williams has revealed he wasn't much of a fan of his 2009 album Reality Killed The Video star, following the announcement of his new record this week.

The former Take That star, who is set to release his new album Take The Crown on 5 November 2012, has revealed that he believed his previous demise as a solo star was due to his own lack of interest in his output.

"I didn't bother touring the last one, I wasn't into it that much," he told BBC's Newsbeat at this year's GQ Men Of The Year awards. "I want to impress on people that I'm fully in with this one."

Speaking of his return as a solo star, he revealed a new determination to return to his former glories.

"I want to dominate the charts. I want to take on the world. I want to be a top pop star," he added. "I'm re-energised and it's called Take The Crown for that reason."

Robbie revealed a clip of his new single 'Candy' yesterday in a behind-the-scenes clip from the video shoot. See the video below.
