Beady Eye frontman Liam Gallagher presented Olympic cycling champion Bradley Wiggins with a Lifetime Achievement Award at last night's GQ Men Of The Year Awards.
Gallagher presented Wiggins with the award in honour of his sporting triumphs in 2012. Wiggins is a big fan of Gallagher and spoke of his appreciation at being given the award by his idol.
"To be in this company with so many faces, including Ashley Cole right down there in front of me, it means a lot," said Wiggins at the event.
"It means a lot to be presented with this award from Liam. I grew up with Oasis."
Tom Jones was named GQ's Legend Award, Tinie Tempah was named Solo Artist Of The Year Award and Gary Barlow was presented with the Outstanding Achievement award.
Earlier today it was revealed that X Factor boss Simon Cowell has his eye on a number of sporting stars for an appearance on this year's talent show series.
"I think we're going to do something around the Olympics on one of the live shows so they're all welcome," he told Channel 5 news, describing swimmer Ellie Simmonds 'a star'.
Adding: "We like having heroes on our shows."
