The Stone Roses, Florence and Blur lead Q Award nominations

The 2012 shortlist for the Q Music awards have been announced, with Florence + The Machine, Blur, The Stone Roses and Noel Gallagher all receiving two nominations.

The ceremony will be held on 22 October 2012 and voting is now open on the Q website for readers and fans to have their say in the awards process.

"It's been the most incredible year for British music," says Q editor Andrew Harrison. "Our bands and our anthems transformed the Olympics into the greatest music event on Earth.

"And amazing comeback shows from Blur and the Stone Roses showed the enduring appeal of our greatest musicians. All the nominees for this year's Q Awards helped make 2012 an absolutely unforgettable year."
