The Black Keys have begu work on the follow up to their 2011 elabum 'El Camino', informing fans that they have 'started the ball rolling' on their next album.

The band, who are to tour the UK in December following a hugely succesful weekend of gigs at Reading and Leeds Festivals, revealed to Rolling Stone that they recently hit the studio to lay down some ideas.

"We spent a week in the studio. [It wasn't] the most focused studio session [but we did] get some ideas down and started the ball rolling," guitarist Dan Auerbach said.

Adding: "We never know what's going to happen. We don't talk about it. We don't plan it. We start recording, and then all of a sudden it starts to take shape and we have an idea.

"Not sure who we're gonna work with or if we're going to [produce] it ourselves. We haven't planned it out yet."
