The Vaccines have earned their first UK number one album after their second effort 'Come Of Age' went straight to the top of the Official Album Chart yesterday (Sept 9).
The 'Teenage Icon' band entered the chart at number one, narrowly ahead of Two Door Cinema Club who charted at number two with their album 'Beacon'. The success of both albums marks a rare positive week for guitar bands in the UK charts.
Elsewhere in the UK Album Chart there were new entries from Ronan Keating, Mark Knopfler, Scouting for Girls, Matchbox Twenty, The Milk and Cat Power.
Over in the Official Singles Chart, Ne-Yo is at number one for the fifth time in his career with his single 'Let Me Love You'. All of this week's top three are new entries with The Script's duet with Will.i.am entering the chart at two and P!nk's 'Blow Me (One Last Kiss) charting at three.
Other new entries in the Official Single Chart came from Flo Rida, Plan B, Professor Green and The Vaccines.
