At last’s night Twickenham Stadium show, Lady Gaga performed a new song that she had written which is dedicated to the late Princess Diana, titled ‘Princess D.IE’.
The ‘Poker Face’ singer, who is renowned for pushing boundaries, performed the controversially titled track to her 50,000 fans last night stating, “Since I was a very young girl, the People’s Princess was the most important person in me and my mother’s life.”
The 26-year-old went on to say, “I swore if I ever had an audience like this in London I would take a moment to appreciate her.”
“The song is called Princess Di,” she proclaimed at last night’s show, “I predict controversy, but I don’t care… let’s take a moment to appreciate her presence and what she means.”
It has been 15 years since the tragic death of Princess Diana in 1997, who died in a car crash in Paris. The accident caused mass outrage and sadness across the world.
