Rebecca Ferguson's former management company have taken legal action against the X Factor star claiming she ended their agreement unlawfully.
X Factor star Ferguson, who released her debut album 'Heaven' in 2011 signed a five year deal with Modest Management but terminated it earlier this year after claiming that she was being over worked and kept from her young family.
Modest claim that the contract was ended unlawfully by their client and are seeking 20% of her future earnings and damages as compensation. Citing an e-mail sent to them from Ferguson, Modest state they have proof of the illegal end to the deal.
"I am really unhappy with how I have been treated by you over the last couple of months and how miserable I have become," the email from Ferguson reads.
"The deterioration of my health has not been relevent (sic) to you until this week when it reached another low point. I have lost all faith and trust in you as managers so I have no option but to terminate our working relationship with immediate effect."
The legal case is ongoing. Ferguson has since spoken to her fans, assuring her that the ill health she talked about in the email is a thing of the past and that she is perfectly healthy now.
