X Factor runner-up Rebecca Ferguson has recorded a new track for an upcoming collection of songs inspired by ITV period drama, Downton Abbey.

The new track, 'I'll Count The Days' will appear on Downton Abbey: The Essential Collection alongside cover versions of U2's 'With Or Without You' and The Police's 'Every Breath You Take' by The Police. James Bond songwriter ('Diamonds Are Forever') Don Black has also contributed a track to the collection.

Ferguson is currently involved in a legal battle with her former management company, who are suing the star for terminating her deal with Modest Management.

X Factor star Ferguson, who released her debut album 'Heaven' in 2011 signed a five year deal with Modest Management but terminated it earlier this year after claiming that she was being over worked and kept from her young family.

Modest claim that the contract was ended unlawfully by their client and are seeking 20% of her future earnings and damages as compensation. Citing an e-mail sent to them from Ferguson, Modest state they have proof of the illegal end to the deal.

"I am really unhappy with how I have been treated by you over the last couple of months and how miserable I have become," the email from Ferguson reads.

"The deterioration of my health has not been relevent (sic) to you until this week when it reached another low point. I have lost all faith and trust in you as managers so I have no option but to terminate our working relationship with immediate effect."
