Irish soft rockers The Script have scored their first ever British No.1 single with their Will.i.am collaboration, 'Hall Of Fame'.
The band have enjoyed a career revival after frontman Danny O'Donoghue's stint as a judge on BBC talent show, The Voice earlier in 2012. The band climb to No.1 to hold off Amelia Lily, from rival show X Factor, who scores her first ever hit with 'You Bring Me Joy'
X Factor judge Tulisa misses out on the Top Ten as her new single 'Live It Up' debuts at No.11 and David Guetta returns with his new Sia collaboration, 'She Wolf (Falling To Pieces)' at No.14. Taken from his re-released Nothing But The Beat album, Guetta scores a second new hit as album track 'Play Hard' with Ne-Yo and Akon also enters at No.22.
Mumford & Sons' 'I Will Wait' debuts at No.17 and The Killers enter at No.18 with 'Runaways'. Otto Knows enters at No.24 with 'Million Voices' and Kanye West returns to the chart with his new single, 'Clique', which features Big Sean and Jay-Z. PSY and Conor Maynard also score new hits at No.37 and No.38.
The xx debut at the top of the album chart, as the London duo's Coexist hold The Script at No.2 and Bob Dylan at No.3. Joe McElderry scores his third Top Ten album with his Here's What I Believe. David Guetta's Nothing But The Beat enters at No.13, Billy Talent's Dead Silence enters at No.23, ZZ Top land at No.29 with their La Futura album and David Byrne is new at No.40 with his Love This Giant collection.
