OK, so we've run a few stories on Chris Brown on Gigwise recently, but if you wanted to block all of those - and across the entire world wide web - on your browser, a new app has been developed to do just that.

While the US r&b star has millions of fans the world over, he is also one of the most unpopular artists on the pop scene. This is laregly due to the fact he beat Rihanna to a bloody pulp in 2009 and has never truely offered an apology for the incident.

Now, the new 'Brownout' app will remove all mention of the 'Turn Up The Music' star from the internet of those with the app installed.

“It is nearly impossible to go on the internet without reading something about him, he is always doing something outrageously moronic,” said Sam Sutherland, online producer for AUX, the Toronto-based company that created Brownout to US radio station CBS local. “If he wants to get a tattoo on his neck that kinda looks like Rihanna we are going to write about it. But at some point, it reaches Chris Brown idiocy saturation."

AUX previously created a similar application in 2011 that has a similar effect on Nickelback online. Users of the app will see a box over any pictures of Brown's face and over his name in headlines.

"All we had to do is build a frame where it recognizes the word and ignores it and literally erases it,” Sutherland added. ”You can see everything except his name and his face."

Should you wish to download the app, visit the AUX website to remove all mention of Chris Brown from the internet - including on Gigwise!
