Gary Barlow is to appear on two tracks on a new and updated version of Jeff Wayne's classic War Of The Worlds album when it is released next month.

Take That star and X Factor judge Barlow will appear on two songs with Ricky Wilson of Kaiser Chiefs, Maverick Sabre and Joss Stone all set to appear alongside him.

Barlow will appear on 'Forever Autumn' and 'The Eve Of The War', first sung by Moody Blues' Justin Hayward on the 1978 original.

Speaking about his role on the album, Barlow said: "I've been a huge fan of The War of The Worlds score since I was a kid, so to be asked to work with the legend that is Jeff Wayne was a real privilege."

Ricky Wilson will appear as The Artilleryman when the album is released on November 12th whilst Maverick Sabre will play Parson Nathaniel. Joss Stone will take the role of Nathaniel's wife whilst Taken actor Liam Neeson is The Journalist, narrating the story throughout.
