Queen icon Brian May is an outspoken campaigner against a proposed badger cull in the UK - and has taken to the skies in London to promote his cause.

The guitarist was lifted into the sky on Cromwell Road in London in front of a giant RSPCA poster aiming to prevent the cull. Cromwell Road is one of the UK's busiest junctions in the UK and the poster, along with the campaign has been launched with the aim of raising public awareness and forcing a debate in Parliament.

May appeared on BBC News this week (18 September) to argue his point, saying: "The disease comes from cows, it doesn't come from badgers. It's a very unfair situation. Badgers have been the scapegoat for years and years and farmers have been killing badgers for many, many years now."

Adding: "All the scientific evidence that's been done – 11,000 badgers were killed in the ISG [Independent Scientific Group]'s experiment…and their conclusion was that killing badgers cannot meaningfully contribute to the problem of bovine TB in cattle. It's completely unequivocal."

May recently revealed that his animal campaign work was now more important to him than his music career. Check out photos of the Queen star with the wind in his hair, high abouve London's busiest junction - all in the aid of badgers.
