David Bowie is to celebrate the 40th anniversary of his single 'The Jean Genie’ by re-releasing the song on an exclusive picture disc.
First released on November 14, 1972, ‘The Jean Genie’ was the first single released from Bowie's classic 'Aladdin Sane' album.
The Jean Genie picture disc will come complete with audio from the recently-recovered BBC Top Of The Pops performance of ‘The Jean Genie’ from January 1973. The limited edition run will be available from November 19th.
Bowie will also be the subject of a comprehensive retrospective when thousands of items from his back catalogue and archive go on display at London's V&A museum in 2013.
Though the exhibition has Bowie's full backing, the star was forced to deny rumours that he had personally curated the display, which is expected to tour the world after its London residency.
