Lady Gaga surprised many this week when she revealed her less-than-slim figure on stage, but her love for Italian food may be to blame.
Professional midwife Kelly Osbourne claimed that Gaga's weight gain is because she is pregnant yet the 'Born This Way' star suggested otherwise when she was spotted smoking a joint on stage in Amsterdam this week.
However, a delve into the not so ancient archives may reveal just why Gaga is not as thin as she was last year.
Speaking to a US radio show earlier this year, Gaga explained how her Father's new business is bad for her waist line and led to her gaining 25lbs around New Year. “I love eating pasta and I’m a New York Italian girl. That’s why I have been staying out of New York," she said.
Adding: “My father opened a restaurant. It’s so amazing… it’s so freaking delicious, but I’m telling you I gain five pounds every time I go there.
“So my dad wants me to eat at the restaurant, and I’m like, ‘I’ve got to go where I can drink green juice.’ “I really don’t feel bad about it, not even for a second.
“It’s hard because I have a vigorous show, so I tend to bulk up, get muscular, and I really don’t like that. So I’m trying to find a new balance.”
Pregnant or not, let's just hope Gaga doesn't record another rap track about this latest chapter in her life.
