Chris Brown tested positive for marijuana in June this year, while carrying out community service in LA, it has been confirmed.
Brown is currently in court over allegations that he violated the terms of his five year probation for assaulting then girlfriend Rihanna in 2009. It is there that Brown was revealed to have tested positive for the illegal drug.
A probation report presented in court revealed that Brown tested positive in Virginia three months ago whilst carrying out his community service. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg confirmed that Brown produced a medical marijuana card after testing positive.
The judge warned Brown that he is a role model, saying: "You are not an ordinary person who can sit in your living room and do whatever you want to do. More importantly, a lot of people look up to you, a lot of kids. What you do and what you say impacts a lot of people."
Schnegg then arranged a November 1 court date to determine whether Brown has violated his parole terms, including the allegation that the singer has not carried out all of his community service.
Rihanna, whose assault is the reason Brown is in court in the first place, reached out to Brown via Twitter before the trial and said: "Praying for you baby, my best wishes are with you today! Remember that whatever God does in our lives, it is WELL DONE!!!"
