US pop sensation and lover of cream-cake bras, Katy Perry has been named Billboard's Woman Of The Year, and will collect her award at November ceremony, held in New York.

The prize is awarded annually by the US music magazine and Perry was selected following twelve months of promoting her Teenage Dream album as well as completing a world tour, releasing a film and putting her name to a range of money-making projects.

Speaking about Billboard's decision to hand the award to Perry, Billboard editorial director Bill Werde said that Perry was; "one of the most exciting and inspiring artists in the industry".
 
Adding: "Katy Perry broke into the industry not even five years ago, and has already accomplished more than most artists can hope for in an entire career."

Previous winners of the award include Taylor Swift and Beyonce.
