Blur guitarist Graham Coxon has revealed that he has little sympathy with the people who felt the band's reunion show in Hyde Park this Summer was ruined by poor sound levels.

Many fans complained about the Hyde Park gig in August, claiming they could barely hear the band as they performed live. Chants of 'Turn it up' were heard by many above the sound of the band.

However, speaking to Gigwise about the occasion, Coxon revealed that he felt people could have done something about the problem if they wanted to. Asked what he made of the situation, Coxon said: "Unfortunately, that is just what is happening at Hyde Park because of the residents and there is a massive decibel limit that we were told wasn’t going to be in place."

Explaining the efforts the band made, Coxon added: "We put towers of speakers up for all the people but you can’t always get it right. No gig has perfect sound, especially not if you want to stand where the sound is bad and complain about it. Then it’s your own fault."

Asked is what he was saying was that people who can't hear well enough should move, Coxon replied in the affirmative.

Despite the complaints, Blur are planning to release a live DVD of the Hyde Park gig. Parklive will be released as a 3-CD set which will also feature a disc of live recordings from the band's recent warm-up shows, including the London 100 Club gig.
