Gotye has admitted that he could become known as a one hit wonder and that he couldn't care less about that fact.
The singer, real name Wally DeBacker, has had one of 2012's biggest hits in 'Somebody That You Used To Know' but many fans do not know that the song is taken from his third album.
Speaking to NME, Gotye says he does not mind joining the ranks of Chesney Hawkes and Vanilla Ice in the ranks of history's biggest one off successes, saying; "If I was to become a one-hit-wonder, I'd be in some good company."
In fact, the Australian admits he we take a 'perverse pleasure' in the fact. "I would take a sort of perverse pleasure if a certain part of the public think of me as a one-hit-wonder," he says.
"If I go on to never make any music that is as commercially successful as this and that means that there’s a divide between some people’s perception of me in the pop sphere versus me and the actual music that I’ve made, and people actually taking the time to listen to the rest of it, then I think that’s actually kind of interesting."
