Frank Wilson, the influential Motown producer and hitmaker in his own right, has passed away aged 71.

The news of Wilson's passing was confirmed by his family who stated that he died yesterday (Sept 27) following a battle with prostate cancer.

Wilson was a producer at the peak of Motown's powers and produced hits for acts such as Stevie Wonder, Tina Turner, Martha Reeves & The Vandellas, the Four Tops, The Supremes and many more.

He also enjoyed solo success with the 1965 single 'Do I Love You (Indeed I Do)'. The track is something of a rarity with only 250 copies existing in the world. A remaining pressing of the single was found and sold in 1995, raising £25,000 at auction and making it the most expensive record ever sold at auction.
