New footage of The Beatles has been unearthed, showing the rock and roll legends taking a break from filming their classic Magical Mystery Tour to indulge in fish and chips. How very British.
The footage has been revealed (alongside new photos from the filming of the movie) during the development of online project The Arena Hotel, a project for The Space. The Space is a digital arts service from the Arts Council in conjunction with the BBC, which sees the BBC's TV show open its archive of footage online for the first time, offering some very exclusive material.
New footage discovered in association with Apple Films shows The Beatles take viewers on a glamorous trip from their hotel to a fish and chip shop in Taunton, Newquay for a bite to eat. The footage will be online to watch from 2 October, 2012 at www.thespace.org. The BBC will also show a new documentary on the band this weekend (6 October, 2012). Arena: The Beatles' Magical Mystery Tour Revisited will assess and review the movie, ahead of the movie's first screening on the BBC since 1979.
