The X Factor finals are set to be a sober experience for the show's contestants, with producers banning use of mini-bars in the hotel they are staying as they cannot afford to pay the bills.

All twelve of the 2012 finalists are staying in London's five-star Cornithia hotel, the first year they have not stayed in a rented property. However, this is already causing problems with the singers diving into the in-room refreshments, where a bottle of wine is £45 and beers are £7 each.

Speaking to The Sun, a source revealed how: "The contestants have been spoiled with their accommodation and are being waited on hand and foot - but bosses can't foot the bar bill, especially if they're going to sink the amount of booze they're clearly capable of."

Adding: "The hotel is getting a lot of publicity out of this but they won't have acts running riot," the source added.

Meanwhile, camp singer Rylan Clark has revealed he has received a string of violent threats online since coming to public attention on the TV talent show.

Rylan was named as one of the X Factor finalists in this year's X Factor, with new judge Nicole Scherzinger choosing the over-the-top wannabe to as one of the three artists who she will mentor during the rest of this year's show. The singer has now spoken of the online hate he has received after rising to fame on the talent show.
