'Mercy' singer Duffy fled a house fire at her Kensington apartment last night, saving her pets as she escaped the smoke and flames.
Fire broke out in the 10-storey tower block last night in High Street Kensington, forcing the singer to huddle outside with fellow residents from the building. She was seen looking for her cat, reports The Independent.
Many of her neighbours were forced to spent the night in emergency accommodation nearby, but it is reported that Duffy left the centre before 10pm.
A resident from the plush apartments, Rassa Borghei, told The Evening Standard: "I went to the kitchen window and I saw a lot of smoke. I told my sister and my son, let’s leave.
"I saw Duffy running outside. She was running about all over the place. When the police arrived they calmed her."
The flat is described as a 6,000 foot property, boasting its own pool and cinema. Quite a big place for one woman and her cats...
Duffy scored huge international success with her debut album Rockferry but announced in 2011 she was taking a break from music when follow-up Endlessly flopped.
