Pete Townshend of The Who has revealed some of his fears for British society in 2012, saying he ‘wants to scream’ about how much people worry about things these days.

Townshend, who is busy promoting his autobiography Who I Am, revealed to The Sun that he thinks society has been driven ‘insane’ with ‘moral b*llocks’, saying: “I just can’t believe the insanity of this f***ing society we live in, all the moral bollocks. It’s been taken too far.

“I think we’re terrified. We’re terrified for our children, for their future, for the environment. We’re worried about fanatical organised religion, the way the internet is invading our lives, speed cameras, everything. It’s reached a point where you just want to scream.”

Earlier this week Gigwise reported on an extract from Townshend's book which reveals how the guitarist had 'sexual feelings' for Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger.
