Unlike Tupac, Paloma Faith is very much alive, but the company behind the rapper's hologram seen at Coachella earlier in 2012 have turned the wacky British star into virtual reality.
The singer is the surprise choice for a hologram, with many expecting a deceased artist to be next on the list for the treatment, but Paloma Faith will be seen 'performing' at a new London event celebrating British music.
"It’s so weird and exciting," says the singer. "It’s really easy and quick. You basically just perform once and it’s in the bag. It took them about three or four minutes to tweak the lights and get the camera set up and then off we went. It makes sense.
“As with all technology, it should be used to add another dimension to performers as opposed to taking the place of. If, for whatever reason, you were unable to be in two places at once, you now can be. Or you could do a show from your house. Isn’t that amazing? You could do a gig from your kitchen!”
The star's hologram can be seen performing her Top Ten hit single 'Picking Up The Pieces' at The Best Of Britannia exhibition in Clerkenwell, London. A second artist, who is yet to be revealed, will also appear at the event.
