Over 50,000 tickets sold before 10am as three O2 shows spark huge demand

Tickets for Robbie Williams' three November shows at London's O2 went on sale this morning at 9am - and were all sold within an hour.

The singer shifted more than 50,000 tickets before 10am today (9 October, 2012), with huge demand for the star's only solo UK shows of the year. Official reports claim that applications for tickets were oversubscribed by 5000%

A spokesperson for Ticketmaster spoke of the rapid sales after partnering with Williams for the ticket sales.

“There was extraordinary demand today for the Robbie Williams concerts at The O2, probably the biggest onsale for a live event that we have witnessed so far in 2012," said a spokesperson. "The tickets for these hugely anticipated concerts sold out in less than an hour. By using Ticketmaster’s Paperless Tickets initiative, the artist management has also ensured that all these tickets have gone to genuine Robbie fans.”

Robbie will perform on 22, 23 and 24 Nomvember 2012. His new solo album, Take The Crown, is release on 4 November 2012.
