Stevie Nicks has apologised to Nicki Minaj after she said she would 'strangle' the 'Starships' rapper if she were ever rude to her.
The comments came in an interview where the Fleetwood Mac star was asked about the American Idol row between Minaj and Mariah Carey. She responded in frank and honest fashion which she has now apologised for.
Speaking to Just Jared, Nicks retracted her threats and said: ''I want to apologise for my remarks about Nicki Minaj's behaviour toward Mariah Carey which I said during a long and exhausting day of interviews.
''It was very out of character for me and I deeply regret what I said.
''I feel very protective toward Mariah Carey who has gone through many difficulties in her life and I spoke without thinking. I think all artists should be respectful toward one another and that includes me. I am truly sorry.''
The original context of Nicks' comments come from this row between Nicki Mianj and Mariah Carey, which was filmed on the set of American Idol and showed that relations between the two judges are strained at best.
