Britney Spears has paid personal tribute to Whitney Houston at a US event held in memory of the late singer.
Britney was among the stars at the Grammys event to show their respects to Houston, who died in February 2012 after suffered a heart attack after prolonged substance abuse.
"She meant everything to me," said Britney Spears at the LA event. "She was the voice of just, everything. Ever since I was a little girl I worshipped the ground she walked on and I just idolised her from every which way and I love her."
The singer and X Factor judge was seen smiling backstage at the event, which Britney described as 'such a solemn occasion' on Twitter. She added that her boyfriend Jason Trawick was cheering her up, saying: 'Jason's doing his best to put a smile on my face.'

American Idol star and Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson also spoke of her feelings for Whitney, revealing that having Whitney Houston present her with her Grammy award was better than the award itself.
