Lewis Watson from Oxford is a name that you may well be hearing a lot more in the coming year. With over two million YouTube views and a rapidly growing online following, the 19 year old is turning heads with his music.
With softly sung vocals and an acoustic guitar Lewis has understandably been compared to Ed Sheeran, who himself said to Watson “I love seeing what you are doing. You’re smashing it!” Seeing the success that Sheeran has achieved paves the way for the Oxfordshire born singer.
Lewis Watson really has to be considered one of the UK’s fasted rising stars and with backing from Radio 1 DJ Zane Lowe and a tour to look forward to, there could be no stopping this young man. His song writing is extremely self-assured, with confidence oozing from the young star who self-released his debut EP ‘It’s Got 4 Sad Songs on It btw.’ Since its release in April, the young man has continued his rise writing his new EP ‘Another Four Sad Songs’, set for release on download, CD and 10” formats on October 22nd.
Speaking of his musical journey Watson has explained “People aren’t going to talent shows; they’re breaking the mould by writing meaningful songs and getting out there through social media. There are two talents at work: creating music and promoting yourself.”
