Now-split dance trio Swedish House Mafia have scored a No.1 single - preventing Adele from hitting the top spot with her Bond theme tune, 'Skyfall' in this week's new chart.
Adele was aiming for the second No.1 single of her career, following her 2011 chart topper, 'Someone Like You'. However, the euro-pop trio, who earlier this yeat announced their split, could not be halted with their new hit 'Don't You Worry Child'.
X Factor winner Leona Lewis enters the chart at No.7 with her new single 'Trouble' while US stars Maroon 5 and Taylor Swift score new hits at No.18 and No.23 respectively. Hotly tipped new dance duo Disclosure score a new hit at No.26 with 'Latch'.
Meanwhile on the album chart, Mumford & Sons have returned to the No.1 spot on the UK album chart with Babel, holding Ellie Goulding's Halcyon at No.2.
The London four-piece return to the top spot after losing it to Muse for a week with their current release, The 2nd Law. Muse drop to No.3 on this week's chart while Pink's The Truth About Love falls to No.4. Emeli Sande remains at No.5 for yet another week.
The UK's top ten albums also finds room for three more new entries, with Long Wave by Jeff Lynne entering at No.7, Electric Light Orchestra's new hits collection Mr Blue Sky: The Very Best Of charting at No.8 and All Time Low's Don't Panic new at No.9.
Tame Impala enter at No.14 with Lonerism while Kiss return to the UK charts at No.21 with Monster. Mika is new at No.24 with The Origin Of Love. The final new entry comes from Barbra Streisand at No.31 with Release Me.
Babel's return to the top spot cements its place as the year's biggest rock album, already breaking a number of records in the UK and US.

Babel sold 600,000 copies in its week of release in America, hitting No.1 with ease. The album is the band's first stateside chart topper and is the fastest selling record in the US this year. It has also been named the biggest selling rock album since 2008.
