Ending weeks of speculation, The Rolling Stones have announced four live shows taking place in London and Newark in the US. See the video announcement below.

For full ticket details as soon as they become available, visit Viagogo.

The video shows the four members in Paris talking about their return saying "You must have guessed this was coming...Surely you didn't think we weren't gonna do this?!"

To celebrate their 50th anniversary as a band, the iconic quartet will step back on stage as part of the concerts that are being billed as 'The Rolling Stones: 50 Years And Counting.'

Explaining in the video they will be "playing in two cities that know how to rock 'n' roll!"  fans can look forward to an all-new, custom-built set design, with a stage based on the band’s ubiquitous and celebrated tongue and lips logo, which will reach out into the crowd and become a truly must see and hear experience, with integral video screens and effects.

The announcement comes after months of speculation and the shows will Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood and Charlie Watts play for the first time together since 2007. The Rolling Stones will play London's O2 Arena on Sunday 25th November and Thursday 29th November. Before crossing the pond to play at the Prudential Center, Newark, near New York, on December 13th and 15th.

Mick Jagger takes to the stage

Talking about the gigs Mick Jagger commented, “Everybody loves a celebration, and London and New York are two good places to do it in!”

Keith Richards adding, ”Sorry to keep you all hanging around but the waiting is over. I've always said the best place for rock and roll is on the stage and the same is true for the Stones.  I'm here with Mick, Charlie and Ronnie and everything is rocking. See you very soon!"

It will be a busy time for the legendary band who unveiled their brand new track 'Doom And Gloom' last week. The song is taken from ‘GRRR!’ a greatest hits collection set for release on the 12th November 2012 and is the first new material the Stone have recorded since their 'A Bigger Bang' album in 2005.

Tickets for the gigs go on sale at 9am on Friday 19th October. For more information, visit Gigwise Gig Tickets.
