Actress Adelaide Clemens let slip that both Prince and Lady Gaga are writing songs for the upcoming adaptation of 'The Great Gatsby' - then admitted she shouldn't have revealed it.

Speaking to Indiewire's The Playlist, Clemens said: "Some pretty huge artists have approached Baz and are writing songs for the film, and I don't think Warner Bros. are going to turn down Prince and Lady Gaga knocking down your door."

She then added: "I don't know if I'm allowed to say that."

Clemens refused to say anything else about it, so it is unknown whether the stars are writing separately or together. Lady Gaga might be able to benefit from Prince's experience - while this would be her first time contributing to a movie soundtrack, Prince scored a number one hit with his song 'Batdance' from the 'Batman' soundtrack.

He also won a Golden Globe award for his song 'Song of the Heart' which was from the 2006 animated penguin film 'Happy Feet'.

The trailer for 'The Great Gatsby' already hints at a more modern soundtrack, with music from Kanye West, Jay-Z and Jack White included. The director Baz Luhrmann is reportedly a Jay-Z fan, according to Isla Fisher, who stars in the film.

The actress, who plays Myrtle, told MTV's Josh Horowitz earlier this year: "On my first day he had Jay-Z pumped up full, and we did the entire scene with, you know, Jay-Z in our ear on full blast while acting, and it was just so liberating."
