New chart statistics have named Girls Aloud as the biggest selling girl group of the 21st century, based on singles sales.
Since they formed in 2002, the band have sold 4.3 million singles - including four No.1 songs and 20 top ten hits, not to mention two No.1 albums.
Their best selling single overall was debut hit 'Sound of the Underground', which sold over 653,000 copies in the UK. And 'The Promise' was their top selling digital download, racking up 485,000 sales.
Martin Talbot, managing director of the Official Charts Company said: "With a staggering 20 Top ten singles and four number ones, we're delighted to officially crown Girls Aloud as the UK's biggest selling girl group of the 21st Century.
"As the Official Charts Company gears up to celebrate 60 years of the Official Singles Chart next month, we wish a huge congratulations to Nadine, Cheryl, Nicola, Sarah and Kimberley on their own 10 poptastic years in music!"
Girls Aloud (or at least four-fifths of them) way back in 2008.
The band have promised big news to come later today (October 19), which fans are expecting to be an announcement of a UK tour.
