Travis Barker claims he was wrongly accused of being in a gang because of his tattoos.
The Blink 182 drummer was pulled over by Los Angeles police last Wednesday while on the way to pick up his daughter.
A spokesperson for Barker told gossip site, TMZ, that he was pulled over for not having a front licence plate, but that the officer then "accused him of having drugs and weapons in the car."
The 39-year-old claims this is the second time that he has been unfairly "profiled" by Los Angeles Police Department within the last year.
On both occasions officers accused him of being a drug and a member of a violent gang because of his extensive body art.

The father of three had his car searched before being given a ticket and a warning to replace his licence plate. He was then told he was free to leave the scene.
Barker admitted earlier this year that he is still traumatised after being involved in a plane crash in 2008.
He was left in a 'critical but stable' condition after the accident, which took the lives of four passengers.
It later transpired that one of the Learjet's tires had blown off as the craft was taking off.
The captain of the plane, which crashed in South Carolina, had only had 35 hours of flight time, and had not been properly trained for such an incident.
He made a decision to abort the flight, but proceeded to crash into an embankment because of the high speed of the plane.
Barker and DJ AM - who lost his life after an accidental overdose in 2009 - were the only survivors.
