More about: James Blunt
James Blunt has hit back at reports he has quit the music industry, revealing he is in fact hard at work in a recording studio in Hollywood.
Well, it looks like it was all just a horrible rumour made up by The Daily Mail - sort of.
What actually happened is this: James Blunt was at the opening of Barbarella in London this week when a writer from The Daily Mail went over to speak to him.
As a joke, Blunt told the writer: "I just want to take some time out for myself. I haven't got any plans to do more songwriting.
"I have been chilling out since I finished my world tour and I've spent a lot of time in Ibiza, where I have a villa."
While it's easy to see how that could be misunderstood, Blunt took to his Facebook to set the story right.
He posted: "The Mail on Sunday has reported that James Blunt has split up due to musical differences. Neither could be reached for comment due to recording commitments," and set his location as Conway Recording Studios.
He also Tweeted a link to a BBC America story, confirming that Blunt is not actually quitting music.
Blunt shot to fame in 2005 with his hit single 'You're Beautiful' but hasn't had a Top Forty single since his 2008 release, 'Stay The Night'. His most recent album, Some Kind Of Trouble hit No.4 in 2010, reaching Gold status in the UK.
He has released three albums and sixteen singles during his eight year career - and it now looks as though there could be more to come.
