All eyes were on the guests at yesterday's Q Awards, but host Al Murray also took some of the limelight, poking fun at Blur's failure to tell fans what they had planned for the future during his time on stage at the London event.

The outspoken comedian took the opportunity to make light of the fact that Blur have yet to reveal what their plans for the future are - after following their summer Hyde Park concert (which many expected to be their last) with announcements of 2013 festival shows.

In a quick quip from the stage, Murray asked the band: "Any more last ever gigs planned?" reveals The Metro. Blur's response is not known.

The comment was among one of Murray's more tasteful moments at the Grosvenor House event - which included jokes about the recent Jimmy Saville sex scandal.

"We had the Olympics this summer," said Murray during the show. "Not that many gold medals awarded from the BBC since Jim'll Fix It. Give it time."

The Metro also reports that this was met with an awkward silence from the show's guests.

Blur's Hyde Park gig was one of London's biggest events of 2012

The event, which took place at London's Grosvenor Hotel, was hosted by Al Murray and featured 'star guest' presenters such as BBC Radio 1's Nick Grimshaw, Danny Boyle and Alice Cooper.

Blur won the award for Best Live Act, while Muse managed to beat The Stone Roses, Lady Gaga and Coldplay in order to win the Best Act In The World Today award.

Speaking about the event, Q's Editor Andrew Harrison said: "It's been the most incredible year for British music. Our bands and our anthems transformed the Olympics. A string of great albums announced fantastic new talent on the scene.

"And amazing comeback shows from Blur and the Stone Roses showed the enduring appeal of our best-loved musicians."

Other winners included Plan B winning Best Track for his single 'ill Manors', Pulp winning the Q Inspiration award and Johnny Marr being awarded the Q Hero award.

The list of winners is:
