Biffy Clyro covered Starship's classic eighties hit song 'We Built this City' during their Radio One live lounge session this morning.

As part of the 'Rock Week' on Radio One, the Scottish trio performed the cover of the Starship number as well their latest single 'Stingin' Belle.'

The band was promoting their upcoming double album, 'Opposites', which will be released in the UK on January 28th, 2013. The record is made up of two parts, the first titled 'The Sand at the Core of Our Bones' and 'The Land at the End of Our Toes'.

In a previous interview with Radio 1 drummer, James Johnston explained how they have tried to give each disc on the double album a distinct  feel.

"I'd say the first disc is probably about points in your life that have gotten you to a certain place that maybe you're not particularly happy about and the frustrations that come with that. The other side of the record is almost the antithesis of that, how you get beyond that point and get to move forward and make things better"
