Paul McCartney has dismissed suggestions that artist Yoko Ono ws responsible for breaking up The Beatles.
The iconic sixties star has dismissed the claims in a new interview set to be broadcast on Al Jazeera next month, in which McCartney speaks about the band's demise with veteran broadcaster, Sir David Frost.
"She certainly didn't break the group up," says McCartney in the upcoming TV interview. "I don't think you can blame her for anything."
McCartney also adds that Lennon was 'definitely' going to leave the band - with or without the influence of Ono.
Furthermore, McCartney credits Ono for Lennon's timeless solo hit 'Imagine', saying the artist changed Lennon's perspective on things.
"When Yoko came along, part of her attraction was her avant garde side, her view of things," McCartney continues.
"She showed him another way to be, which was very attractive to him. So it was time for John to leave."
McCartney has hit back at claims that Ono led to The Beatles' split
The interview will be broadcast on the Al Jazeera network's English language channel in November and will also see McCartney discuss the death of first wife Linda in 1998 and his role as a father and grandfather.
