US rapper Natina Reed (seen on the left in the image to the right), who scored hits in the nineties with girlgroup Blaque, has been killed in a car accident in the US.

The girlgroup star was hit and killed at an intersection in Lilburn, Atlanta on Friday evening. Reed was 32 years old.

US reports reveal that the driver of the car which struck Reed stopped after the accident and called for police and ambulance assistance. Efforts were made at the scene to revive the singer but she was later pronounced dead in hospital.

Reed was said to have been in the road before she was struck, although it is not known why. The driver will not be charged for his role in her death.

Natina Reed made her name with hits such as '808', 'Bring It All To Me' and 'I Do' from the album Blaque. All three were Top 40 UK hits in 1999. They later scored a Top 20 in 2004 with their single 'I'm Good'

Reed was the rapper of the girlgroup. At the height of their success they were signed to Lisa 'Left-Eye' Lopez record label, Left Eye Productions. Left Eye also died in a car accident in 2002.

Blaque had briefly reformed in July of 2012 for the Left Eye Music Festival, where they performed '808'.
