Stars take to Twitter after US star is found dead

 

Snow Patrol, Charlatans and more pay tribute to Terry Callier

Music stars have spoken of their sadness at the loss of US jazz and soul musician, Terry Callier.

The American star was reportedly found dead at home on Sunday 28 October, according to the Chicago Sun Times. Callier was 67 years old.

Callier made his name in the sixties and seventies with a string of album, and also guested on Massive Attack's 2006 single, 'Live With Me'.

Now, many big-name stars of music have paid tribute to the star, taKing to Twitter to share their sadness at the death of the star.

Tim Burgess of The Charlatans posted: "The world has lost another beautiful voice. Rest in peace Terry Callier."

Meanwhile Beth Orton shared a YouTube video with fans, saying: "This was one of the best nights of my life. Such a privilege and joy- RIP dear Terry Callier."


Callier's 2006 album Hidden Conversations was a Massive Attack collaboration

Radio star Giles Peterson added: "Shocked by the news of Terry Callier's passing... a pioneer and folk hero for so many of us... a true loss to music R.I.P"

Gary Lightbody posted a video of Callier's track 'Ordinary Joe', saying: "Terry Callier RIP. A great soul-folk legend. A sad day."
