Sigur Ros premiered a new track during their performance at this year's Iceland Airwaves Festival. Listen to the track below.
'Brennisteinn' ushers in another shift in sound for the Icelandic superstars, ditching the ethereal sounds of 2012 album Valtari for a heavy, grunge-influenced sound - similar to that heard on first album Von.
The band performed at the Reykjavik event on Sunday, 4 November, and 'Brennisteinn' was included in the band's encore. The band also performed tracks from their earlier albums including 'Svefn-g-englar', 'Festival', and 'Saeglopur'.

Sigur Ros perform 'miserable' daylight performance at Bestival 2012
Sigur Ros shared the new track with fans on Twitter following their headline set.
UK fans had just one chance to see Sigur Ros perform live in 2012 - at their Bestival show in September this year. However, despite fans enjoyment of their festival gig, Sigur Ros described their performance as 'miserable' in an apology to fans.
The band performed at 6:30pm on the main stage on the final day of the Isle Of Wight festival in broad daylight - despite being promised a night time slot to make the most of the visuals and light show. An official statement blame the demands of Stevie Wonder for organisers' changing the band's performance time.
"Sigur rós would like to apologise to anyone disappointed not to see the band's Bestival performance live online last night," said an official statement from the band. "Early in the day a decision had been made to delay broadcast till after the show to give the band a chance to review the footage ahead of webcast, since they were dismayed that their guaranteed "darkness" slot had been pushed into daylight by the expansive demands of the headliner.
