Kasabian have denied rumours that they are set to record a cover of 'Walking in the Air'.

It had been widely reported that the Leicester rockers were set to give the festive classic a modern twist, along with other acts including Noel Gallagher and Editors.

The rumours were spawned after the announcement that Channel 4 would be airing a remake of timeless animation 'The Snowman' this Christmas.

But early this morning, Kasabian guitarist, Serge Pizzorno, posted a message on the band's Twitter that appears to have put the rumours to bed.

Pizzorno posted: "To all out beautiful fans out there, rest assured that there is no way were are doing a f***g Snowman cover. Sergio x"

The other acts rumoured to be involved in the soundtrack have yet to confirm or deny their participation.

Kasabian have, however, proved they are not completely adverse to 'the white stuff'.

Last week they were confirmed as headliners for next April's Snowbombing festival. The event is held deep within the Austrian Alps and the 'Fire' stars will top a bill that also includes Carl Cox and Skream.

Serge and co also revealed to fans that as well as the headline slot they will perform an intimate set to a few lucky fans.

They claim the set will take place at '6,000 feet on the crest of a mountain'.
