Despite only having released Given To The Wild earlier this year, The Maccabees are already planning to make the follow-up record.

Speaking to XFM, the band have dismissed suggestions of taking some time off and are instead planning their future material already.

The band said, "We're touring right up until the end of the year and then we're just gonna write another record. We've got a studio in London.

"We're gonna try and calm things down touring wise and we're gonna try and get a record done by the end of next year."

The 2013 record would be the band's fourth studio album, and maybe The Maccabees are planning on trying their luck at the Mercury Prize once again.

Alt-J: This year's winners of the 2012 Mercury Prize.

Alt-J picked up the award at the London event, hosted at the Camden Roundhouse by 6Music's Lauren Laverne after performing earlier in the night. All 12 nominees performed at the event.

"The sheer range of music here celebrates the abiding ability of British musicians to find new ways to explore traditional themes of love and loss while making an exhilarating soundtrack for life in 2012," said judging panel chairman Simon Frith, as quoted by the Telegraph.

The Maccabees plan to play their Mercury nominated album Given To The Wild in full at their upcoming gig at London's St-John-at-Hackney Church on 23 November.
