More about: Beyoncé
Beyonce has led the celebrity support for Barack Obama's second term as US president with a witty post hitting out at political rival, Mitt Romney.
The star posted a light-hearted note on her personal Tumblr account after Obama's win was announced, writing simply: 'Take That Mitches'. She had previously posted a photo of herself at the polling station casting her vote for Obama (see above).
Beyonce had shown support for Obama ahead of the election by writing a personal letter to the president, which included the lines:
"You are the leader to take us from where we are to where we need to be."
"You are the reason my daughter and nephew will grow up knowing they can truly be ANYTHING they want to be."
