Flamboyant X Factor finalist Rylan Clark has been mentored by one of his pop idols ahead of this weekend's live show, with Geri Halliwell giving the Essex singer backstage advice and encouragement.
The Spice Girls star spent time with Rylan this week mentoring him ahead of a performance on this weekend's show of a Spice medley. The theme on the show is Best Of British. Needless to say we hope he isn't wearing a Union Jack dress for the show.
"Oh my God. I can’t breathe. I ain’t lying to you," said Rylan as Geri joined him the X Factor rehearsal studio, reports The Metro. "This week’s best of British and what more can I do than the Spice Girls?"
"When you did the Olympics I was round my mate's house and they were all dressed up as athletes and I was dressed up as you!"
Geri told Rylan that the secret to success was to "rehearse, rehearse, rehearse" before telling him: "Proud of his efforts, the Wannabe singer told him: 'You are a Spice Boy... I think you’ve got star quality. You deserve to be here."
An overwhelmed Rylan replied: "I think you’ve actually made my life coming down here. Girl power!"
Geri joined the judges for a brief stint as a guest judge earlier in 2012
Rylan landed in the bottom two on last week's show, but was saved by the public vote - resulting in rival singer Kye Sones being eliminated from this year's X Factor series.
Neither Rylan or Kye were in the running to win the competition however, with leaked voting figures apparently revealing that Christopher Maloney is scoring twice as many votes as any other contestant on the show.
