Happy Mondays have announced they will play two Christmas shows at London's Roundhouse.

The Manchester veterans will play the Camden venue on 19 and 20 December, with support from fellow Mancunians, and acid-house legends, 808 State.

Tickets will cost £32.50 and go on sale Friday, with the news that there are special guests yet to be added to the bill.

And both gigs will continue on with an 'Official Happy Mondays After-Party', hosted by charismatic Mondays dancer, Bez, and taking place at Camden's Lockside Lounge.

The announcement follows the news that the band will take to Manchester's 9000 capacity Warehouse Project on 22 December.

Happy Mondays at V Festival earlier this year

Happy Mondays reformed at the beginning of 2012, following the lead of Manchester stalwartsThe Stone Roses.

The 'Step On' stars have performed in various capacities since the original line up split in 1993.

But this year marked the reunification of the classic line-up. It includes former X Factor contestant Rowetta Satchell, and guitarist Paul Ryder, who swore he would never re-join the band in 2000.

It has also been confirmed that Happy Mondays are working on new material. The album will be frontman Sean Ryder's first recording with his brother, Paul, since 'Yes Please!' in 1992.

The band's manager, Warren Askew, told NME: "Yes, we are now planning to record a new album, after the success of the tour and with the band all getting on so well."

Askew went on to reveal that Sean was the catalyst for the new material after he started writing while on tour earlier this year.

"Shaun has been writing and the band have been getting together in the studio putting ideas down. I'm sure it will be a great Happy Mondays album."
