The Killers apologise for quitting Manchester gigs

The Killers have issued an official apology after the band were forced to cancel their Manchester MEN Arena gig on Tuesday night (14 November, 2012) when frontman Brandon Flowers became too ill to continue the gig.

Flowers was forced to quit the stage after judge five songs, claiming a sore throat had made it unable for him to continue the show. Following the cancelled gig, The Killers posted an apology to fans on Facebook and Twitter, saying that the band were hoping to reschedule the two Manchester shows affected.

Flowers also apologised profusely to the Manchester crowd, saying that the city is their 'musical home' and the city they 'most look forward to performing'.

"Manchester, we started something we couldn't finish and we're so, so sorry. Working on rescheduling tonight and tomorrow's shows. Will let you know new dates ASAP," said an official statement.

"Both Manchester shows(scheduled for the 13th & 14th) have been cancelled.We will have info about the rescheduled dates very soon."


The Killers were unable to finish their Manchester performance 

"I'm sorry, we've never done this before, but we've got to stop," said Flowers to the audience at the MEN Arena gig. "I don't know what to tell you guys. It's frustrating for me. I'm sorry."

"I promise that we will come back," he added. "This is the town we most look forward most to coming to. This is our musical home and i'm sorry for this. I don't know what else to say. I'm sorry. I'm sorry."

Flowers announcement was met with a mix of boos and cheers from the Manchester crowd.
