The boyband follow last week's chart double scored by Robbie Williams, who did the same with his single 'Candy' and album Take The Throne.

One Direction score album chart victory ahead of music industry legends - as Rod Stewart enters at No.2 with Merry Christmas Baby and Rolling Stones scores a new album hit with their latest collection, GRRR. Alfie Boe enters at No.6 with Storyteller and Green Day are new at No.10 with Dos.

Soundgarden enter at No.21 with King Animal, Christina Aguilera's Lotus lands at No.28 and Deftones score a No.30 plaving with Koi No Yokan. Steps mark their reunion with a No.32 entry with Light Up The World ahead of The Weeknd at No.37 with Trilogy and Foster & Allen at No.38 with The Ultimate Collection.

Rolling Stones enter the album chart at No.3 with GRRR

On the singles chart, the former X Factor runners-up see of stiff competition from US star Bruno Mars in the singles chart, as he enters at No.2 with 'Locked Out Of Heaven' and fellow X Factor graduates, Little Mix - who score their third Top Ten hit at No.3 with 'DNA'. John Lewis' Christmas advertising campaign works wonders for newcomer Gabrielle Aplin - who also rockets into the Top Ten at No.5 with her Frankie Goes To Hollywood cover, 'The Power Of Love'. McFly also score a new Top Ten hit with their latest release, 'Love Is Easy'.

Ed Sheeran - who wrote One Direction's 'Little Things' - chalks up a hit of his own at No.18 with 'Give Me Love' and UK girlband Stooshe enter at No.21 with their TLC cover, 'Waterfalls'. Lana Del Rey is new at No.32 with 'Ride' and Example enters at No.37 with 'Close Enemies'.
