According to a new survey from Travelodge, Adele is the artist that most people listen to when they're falling asleep.

Travelodge conducted a study in order to find out which artists people listen to in order to fall asleep at night - and Adele was the star who topped the poll.

2,000 adults were questioned about their sleeping habits, and Adele seems to be the artist with the narcoleptic effect, apparently as listening to her helps people relax.

Coldplay, who took the No.1 spot in the 2008 and 2010 surveys, moved down to No.2. Snow Patrol came in at third place, followed by One Direction in fifth. Looks like the boyband aren't staying Up All Night after all!

Stevie Williams, an expert from Edinburgh Sleep Centre, said, "Results from various sleep studies undertaken with a variety of male and female groups, has indicated that listening to soft, relaxing music at bedtime leads to a number of different benefits to a night's sleep."

Coldplay - looks like even Chris Martin might need a cheeky on stage nap...

And a spokesperson for Travelodge, Shakila Ahmed, added, "After a long stressful day it's essential that you de-stress to aid sleep and listening to music will help focus your attention and assist your body and mind to relax."

Now that Adele's just had a baby, we wonder if she'll need to listen to her own album to nod off.
