Matt Bellamy has confessed to being a fan of Australian soap Neighbours when he was growing up, admitting a particular fondness for Kylie and Jason's onscreen relationship.
The Muse frontman met Kylie Minogue at the Q Awards, as she presented Muse with their prize for winning Best Act in the World Today.
When Q magazine later asked Bellamy what the best part of winning the award was, he said, "Meeting Kylie!"
Bellamy explained, "I've never met her before. She's such a lovely lady. I'm so glad that she presented us the award.
"I grew up watching Neighbours, I used to get home from school and watch it every day. I was a bit fan of her and Jason's relationship thing."
More of a Rihanna fan: Kylie, leaving her 777 London show.
Matt Bellamy also explained that he was surprised the Muse track 'Survival' was chosen for the Olympics - as it was originally written about people who prep for doomsday.
He'd previously hinted at this, but added, "Now it's all over, we can say that the song was really written more about survivalists.
"There was this TV show called [Doomsday] Preppers, which was all about these crazy survivalists who think the world is gonna end. The song is basically about that.
"So I was just making a comment that I was as surprised as everybody else was, that the song got selected for the Olympics."
